At Trinity College we are dedicated to support each individual student to become the most successful learner that they can be. We acknowledge that some of our students may require additional support along their learning journey to experience success in school and nurture their God-given talents.
The Learning Enrichment team collaborates closely with teachers to provide opportunities to students from Prep to Year Twelve to make meaningful progress in their learning. This is achieved mostly in class by providing differentiated teaching strategies and resources that through either extension, support or modifications cater for individual student needs.
Students who may be experiencing difficulty in accessing the classroom curriculum due to a disability as well as students with English as an Additional Language or Dialect (EALD) are provided with assistance in a variety of ways depending on the student level of need. Intervention support for may take place in the classroom, or as withdrawal of small homogenous groups, or individually. A team of skilled teacher aides forms an integral part of the Learning Enrichment team in their delivery of targeted intervention programmes such as Minilit and Multilit, weekly social skills programmes including the Zones of Regulation. Support in the high school is offered especially across the core subject areas.
Students may be referred to Learning Enrichment at enrolment, at any time by parents, or by teachers.
